The novel thrombectomy system ANA, which combines a self-expanding funnel that reduces clot fragmentation while being able to expand to the width of the lodging artery, has shown proven positive clinical results. The study was a prospective, open, single-arm, multicenter trial with blinded assessment of the primary outcome by an independent core lab. The Steering Committee decided to terminate recruitment after the enrollment of 74 patients because safety and performance objectives were reached.
